What to Expect During Installation
The installer removes the required body panels, supports and marks the factory door position, replaces the original hinges with the VDI assemblies, manages wiring clearance, performs required non-visible clearance work, installs and adjusts the gas shocks, aligns the doors, and tests opening and closing.
Bolt-on does not mean modification-free. The system mounts at the factory hinge locations, but installation can require trimming a non-visible portion of the fender or inner-fender area to provide hinge-arm clearance. Prior collision damage, aftermarket body panels, an existing hinge conversion, or other modifications can change the installation scope.
Mobile Installation Requirements
