Willie's 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray 70th Anniversary came to Vertical Doors, Inc. in Lake Elsinore, California for a Vertical Door Conversion Kit, part number VDCCHEVYCORC820. Our team completed the installation in February 2026, keeping the original Corvette doors and changing how they open.

The white body, red-accented wheels, red brake calipers, and black rear wing give this convertible plenty to look at. With both doors raised, the two-tone interior becomes part of the view. Danny also demonstrates the door operation, including opening and closing from the driver's seat.

Danny Demonstrates How the Corvette C8 Doors Work

Danny from Vertical Doors, Inc. walks through opening and closing the converted doors on Willie's Corvette. The demonstration includes operation from outside the car and from the driver's seat, giving owners a useful look at how the system is handled.

This conversion replaces the factory hinge system. The original door opens outward to the hinge's stopping point before lifting vertically. The kit's gas shock assists with the upward movement. To close, lower the door to its horizontal opening position before bringing it inward.

The Details on Willie's 70th Anniversary Corvette

The low front views show how the red wheel accents and brake calipers pick up the red seat belts inside. Black trim along the splitter, side skirts, and side intakes contrasts with the white body. The anniversary badges remain on the original doors, now displayed above the front fenders when raised.

From the rear, the wing, angular taillights, quad exhaust outlets, and dark lower fascia give a different perspective on the finished car. The photos show both sides of the conversion so you can compare the raised door position, open doorway, and overall appearance.

Questions About This Corvette C8 Conversion

Do I need to lift the door every time I get in or out?

No. On the properly installed Stingray system, the initial outward opening provides room for entry and exit before lifting the door. Danny's demonstration shows how the converted door is handled from outside and inside the car.

Can the Corvette be returned to its factory hinges?

The original hinge system can be reinstalled. However, installation of the Vertical Door Kit includes non-visible trimming for clearance. Contact us first if restoring every modified area to its exact factory condition is important to you.
