Outward First, Then Upward
The passenger-side photos show two positions of the same original Corvette door. It opens outward to the hinge system’s stopping point, then raises vertically with assistance from the gas shock. On a properly installed Stingray system, the outward opening can be used for entry and exit without raising the door every time.

Door Alignment and Installation Details
The kit mounts at the factory hinge locations and retains the original door shells. Installation includes fender removal, non-visible trimming for hinge clearance, wiring-clearance checks and final alignment. The door must move through its complete path without interference, and the latch must meet the striker correctly.
