How the Corvette's Vertical Doors Open
The traditional Vertical Door hinge system changes the opening path while retaining the original Corvette doors. Open the door outward to the hinge's stopping point, then lift it vertically with assistance from the gas shock.
The initial outward opening provides access for entry and exit, so the door does not need to be raised every time. This is the traditional VDI Vertical Door movement. The VDI ZLR system uses a different outward-and-upward diagonal movement in one continuous motion.
The original feature identifies VDCCHEVYCORC820. For a new purchase, confirm your Corvette's actual model and modifications with our team. Standard Stingray applications use VDCCHEVYCORC820; Z06 and the other applications listed below use VDCCHEVYCORC823Z06.
