The bright yellow-green exterior stands out against the black front splitter, side-intake trim and dark multi-spoke wheels. Red brake calipers and light gray-and-black seats bring more color into the build. With the doors raised outside our facility, the photos give a clear look at the finished conversion from both sides.

How the Corvette's Vertical Doors Open
The VDCCHEVYCORC820 hinge system changes the opening path while retaining the original Corvette doors. Open the door outward to the hinge's stopping point, then lift it vertically with assistance from the gas shock.
The initial outward opening provides access for entry and exit, so the door does not need to be raised every time. This is the traditional VDI Vertical Door movement. The VDI ZLR system uses a different outward-and-upward diagonal movement in one continuous motion.

Factory Installation in Lake Elsinore, California
Dr. Eitan's Corvette received its conversion at the Vertical Doors, Inc. facility in January 2025. The original photos show the completed car outside our building, with the raised doors revealing the two-tone seats and the hinge installation.
The kit uses the factory hinge bolt locations. Installation includes fender removal, non-visible trimming for hinge-arm clearance, wiring-clearance checks and door alignment. The installer must check latch engagement, panel gaps, hinge stops and gas-shock operation through the complete door path.
