Dave from Las Vegas, Nevada, made vertical doors one of the first changes to his red 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray coupe. Our team at Vertical Doors, Inc. installed the VDCCHEVYCORC820 Vertical Door Conversion Kit at our Lake Elsinore, California facility, keeping the original Chevrolet doors and changing the way they open.
During his walkthrough with Nick, Dave shares the details he has added since buying the car, from engine-bay dress-up panels to sequential front turn signals. The red exterior, tan-and-black interior, dark split-spoke wheels and red brake calipers give us plenty to look at with the doors raised.

Vertical Doors Were Dave's First Upgrade
Dave explains that after buying his Corvette, the first thing he did was bring it to Vertical Doors, Inc. for the hinge conversion. With the doors raised, the tan-and-black cabin is visible from either side, while the original red door panels remain part of the car.
The side view shows how the conversion fits into the rest of his build. The dark wheels, red calipers and black side-intake accents carry the same colors around the car without taking attention away from the raised doors.
Dave's C8 Walkthrough with Nick
Dave joins Nick to demonstrate the doors and walk through the other changes he has made to his Corvette. He opens the rear engine hatch, points out the added components and shares his experience using the door conversion.

Upgrades Dave Shares
- ACS Composite engine-bay vents: Dave points out the vents around the rear engine area.
- Red engine-bay dress-up panels: A three-piece panel set adds more red beneath the open rear hatch.
- Side-intake grille inserts: Added inserts are visible inside the side-intake openings.
- Paragon Performance sequential front turn signals: Dave discusses the lighting upgrade and its turn-signal options.
- 92 mm throttle body: He identifies this as another change he has made to the car.
- Paragon Performance oil catch can: Dave shows the installed catch can during the engine-bay walkthrough.
From Las Vegas to Lake Elsinore
For Dave, the trip from Las Vegas was worth it. He describes the installation as clean and says the doors have worked well for him after an adjustment. He also talks about getting into the car with the conversion and demonstrates his own routine with Nick.
Hearing an owner explain how he uses the doors adds something the photos alone cannot show. Dave's walkthrough covers both the finished appearance and his experience living with the conversion.
How the Corvette C8 Vertical Door Conversion Works
The VDCCHEVYCORC820 system replaces the factory hinges while retaining the original Corvette doors. Each door opens outward to the hinge system's stopping point before it is raised vertically. Gas shocks assist the upward movement.
This is the traditional Vertical Doors, Inc. conversion, commonly called a Lambo door kit or scissor door kit. Correct installation, alignment and adjustment are important to how the doors operate.
