This is not the standard Stingray kit. Most 2020-2026 C8 Stingray applications use part number VDCCHEVYCORC820. How the Vertical Door Conversion Operates
The conversion replaces the factory hinge system while retaining the original Corvette doors. Open the door outward until it reaches the hinge system’s predetermined stopping point, then lift it vertically. The included gas shocks assist with the door’s weight during the lifting motion.
This movement is different from the VDI ZLR Door Conversion. A traditional Vertical Door Kit opens outward first and then lifts; a ZLR system opens in a single diagonal outward motion. Review the Chevrolet Corvette C8 guide if you are deciding between the two systems.

Installation Requirements
Bolt-on does not mean modification-free. Installation requires mechanical experience, proper tools, safe door support, body-panel removal, wiring clearance, careful hinge adjustment, and final door alignment. A non-visible portion of the fender or inner-fender area may require trimming so the hinge arm can move through its full range.
Before loosening or removing the original hinges, use 2-inch painter’s tape to mark the door’s factory alignment. Place tape across the door and adjacent body at several reference points, including near the hinges and firewall, then draw matching alignment lines across the tape. These marks help preserve the door’s original horizontal and vertical position during installation. Follow the supplied instructions, and verify latch alignment, wiring clearance, panel gaps, gas-shock operation, and safe opening and closing before returning the vehicle to service.
