The Chevrolet Corvette C8 is an interesting platform for a vertical door conversion because of its mid-engine proportions and the shape of its original doors. The door system needs to work with those factory body lines, not replace them.

For this installation, the VDCCHEVYCORC820 kit changes the hinge movement while retaining the original Corvette doors. The doors open outward first, then raise vertically. When lowered and properly aligned, they close in the original door openings.

That first outward movement is also useful for owners who prefer to enter and exit their Corvette without raising the door every time. Correct installation, adjustment and clearance checks are important to everyday operation.

Not every Chevrolet Corvette C8 model uses the same Vertical Door Conversion Kit. The correct kit depends on the specific model and, for modified Stingrays, certain wheel, suspension and body configurations.

Modified Stingray exception: Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray models with a widebody conversion, air-bag suspension or wheels measuring 21 inches or larger require the VDCCHEVYCORC823Z06 kit rather than the standard Stingray kit.
