A Replacement Project with an Existing Conversion
A Corvette that already has an aftermarket hinge conversion needs its existing installation reviewed before replacement work is planned. Share photos of the current hinges, mounting areas and any previous modifications so the installer can assess what is involved.

Reviewing an Existing Hinge Installation
Tell the installer what kit is currently fitted, what work has already been performed and what symptoms you have noticed. Photos and an inspection help establish the condition of the mounting areas, wiring, doors and surrounding bodywork.
The VDI installation instructions cover safe door support, fender removal, nonvisible clearance trimming, wiring clearance and alignment. Final checks include latch engagement, panel gaps and clearance throughout the complete outward-and-upward movement. Previous modifications may require additional evaluation.
