Olivia’s Self-Installed 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 Vertical Doors

Olivia’s white 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 3LZ wears a Vertical Doors, Inc. Vertical Door Conversion Kit that she installed herself in her garage. Known as @missc8corvette, Olivia made this her second build with our hinges, using part number VDCCHEVYCORC823Z06 on the Z06.

The red interior, black-and-red wheels and red brake calipers give the white coupe a coordinated look. With both doors raised, the red door panels and seats become a major part of the car’s appearance.

Olivia handled the vertical door installation herself. That hands-on approach is part of this Z06’s story, along with a build list that covers the wheels, suspension, exhaust, intake and interior.

The white body keeps the darker aero pieces and red accents easy to see. Daytime and nighttime photos show the same color combination from different angles, including the red interior panels on the raised doors.

How the Vertical Doors Work

The VDI system retains the original Corvette doors and replaces the factory hinges. Each door opens outward to the hinge system’s designed stopping point, then raises vertically with gas-shock assistance.

On a correctly installed and adjusted system, the initial outward opening can be used for normal entry and exit without lifting the door every time. The conversion is commonly called a Vertical Door Kit, Lambo Door Kit or Scissor Door Kit.

Olivia completed her own installation. The work requires fender removal, non-visible clearance trimming, wiring checks, door alignment and careful hinge adjustment. Follow the instructions supplied with the specific kit and get technical help when needed.
