2. Fender and trim access: Remove only the components required to expose the factory hinge area. Protect cameras, side repeaters, connectors, fasteners, and painted panels.
3. Factory door position: Mark the horizontal and vertical position and record upper and lower measurements before loosening factory hinges.
4. Door support: Keep the factory door controlled with protected spacers, painter's tape, and a helper so it cannot shift or drop.
5. Wiring movement: Release only the retainers identified by the VDI instructions. Confirm the protected harness can follow both outward and vertical door travel without tension or abrasion.
6. VDCTES317 hinge installation: Seat the hinge flat at the factory mounting location and use the supplied hardware in the specified positions and tightening order.

10. Final reassembly: Reinstall panels only after alignment, wiring movement, fastener security, lubrication, and repeated door operation have been verified.
